A window in his mouth

It's been a couple of weeks now but, McKay lost his 3rd tooth. Our sister-in-law Julie was in town staying at her sister's house and had invited us over for some awesome Haslam pie. And it was awesome! Anyway, while we were visiting, the kids were in the backyard jumping on the trampoline. Not long after he had gone outside, McKay came back in with a hesitant grin and some tears. Then he opened his mouth and handed me his tooth. He and another little boy butted heads on the tramp in just the right spot to knock that baby right out. He wasn't sure how to act until he saw Noah's and my reaction. Then he wiped his tears, started beaming and couldn't hold back a laugh. It was pretty cute.

For being such a little tooth that sucker made a big hole. and he has 2 more teeth that are loose. I kinda hope the others don't grow in before he looses the next 2. Think of how adorable that grin would be!

 When he lost his first tooth he brought it to school to show his teacher and friends. I thought I sent it in a ziplock bag but now that I think about it maybe I didn't. The teacher was nice enough though (or a little grossed out) to send him to the nurse to get a plastic tooth locket to keep the tooth safe. And man was he ever excited about that locket. He wore it all day everyday for a couple of weeks. He even delayed putting it under his pillow for the tooth-fairy. Anyway, I some how lost the original tooth locket so he got a replacement from the nurse once he lost this one.    

Then, when it was time for him to leave it under his pillow he decided to write the tooth fairy a letter and make her a treat "since she is always leaving treats for all us kids." He wanted to make her a ("just one because she doesn't want too many sugar bugs being the tooth fairy") cookie in the shape of a tooth ("because she is the tooth fairy mom"). Sweet intention but with an uncrafty mom, the cookie turned out looking more like a messy cookie than it did a tooth. Oh well. The thought was there. On the bag he wrote "chreet toothfary. haf a delit" * treat tooth fairy. Have a delight.
