So McKay calls me mommy all the time lately. We are trying to teach him the difference between mommy and daddy but he’s not sure there is a difference yet. It is pretty sweet.
This kid talks like crazy!! We can ask him to repeat things and he gives it a try no matter what it is if he’s in the right mood. He’s completely off with the tougher words but man, he gives it a try.
His favorite thing lately is to walk up to a shelf where we have the tools and rub his tummy and say “peeese, peese,” begging for the drill. Then he throws in a few screams between his peeeses. He always signs and talks at the same time. He says things like “apole (apple), bebe (baby), aa done, down peese (with the word down said incredibly clearly), up peese (sometimes he confuses up peese and down peese), ak peese (walk please), and many more. Kristi has done SO well teaching him the signs and it is breathtakingly cute as he signs while he says the words. Especially the word baby as he puts his arms together and rocks back and forth to sign baby as he says “bebe” with the sweetest little voice you have ever heard.
One morning a few weeks ago all was quiet in the apartment when we heard from the other room “NO!! then a pause, then again “NO!!” not a sad no or a worried no, just like a you shouldn’t do that no. just in there talking to no one. It was pretty funny. Instead of waking up to his cry or to sweet random noises, we now often wake up to him saying “ou peese, ou peese, ou peese, (out please)” over and over. Pretty sweet.
He looks at himself in the mirror and talks gibberish for a minute and then just laughs his little head off.
He also screams a lot really loud lately when he is unhappy.
